Departing from Singapore
There are no restrictions imposed on departures from Singapore. However, travellers must abide by the travel requirements imposed by their overseas destination. Please note the following points if you are planning to leave Singapore:
- Travel Requirements Imposed by Destination Country/Region
- How to obtain COVID-19 Medical Proof (e.g. vaccination/recovery certificates, and test reports)
Travellers will be subjected to the prevailing entry requirements for their return to Singapore. This may include entry approvals for non-fully vaccinated travellers. Details are available on the "Travelling to Singapore" page.
1) Travel Requirements Imposed by Destination Country/Region
Many destinations still have COVID-19 travel restrictions in place, in addition to other required travel documentation. These may include COVID-19 tests, entry approvals/declarations, and proof of vaccination.
Please check with the authorities of your destination on the entry requirements imposed on travellers departing from Singapore, or refer to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' travel guides for details sorted by destination.
2) Obtaining COVID-19 Medical Proof (e.g. vaccination/recovery certificates, test reports)
Some destinations may require travellers to present any combination of the following documents, which can be obtained in Singapore.
Click “+” to expand for details on how to obtain the documents.
Pre-Departure COVID-19 Test Report
A pre-departure COVID-19 test can be booked with any clinic found on this list. Before booking, check with the clinic on the type of test administered, cost and estimated turnaround time for the release of the report, and ensure that these can meet the requirements of the destination country.
On the day of the test, travellers should bring the following documents for registration to facilitate report preparation:
- Identity card (for Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, and Long-Term Pass Holders)
- Passport to be used for travelling
- Flight booking details showing the departure timing
For PCR tests, the clinic will send you a digitally authenticated test result via email in the form of a QR code, which can be used for boarding and immigration clearance. For ART results, ask the clinic to issue a digitally authenticated report.
Vaccination Certificates
If you are vaccinated in Singapore and need to show proof of vaccination overseas, you can apply for a digitally authenticated vaccination certificate using Notαrise, as not all destinations may recognise physical vaccination certs or the vaccination status on the TraceTogether/HealthHub apps.
Upon authentication, Notαrise will send a Vaccination HealthCert QR code to your email and/or Singpass app (if you used Singpass to log in), which foreign authorities can scan to check your vaccination status.
If you have queries about Vaccination HealthCerts, refer to this FAQ or write to support@notarise.gov.sg for assistance.
COVID-19 Recovery Certificate
Some destinations offer testing exemptions to travellers who recovered from COVID-19.
You can apply for a digitally authenticated recovery certificate via Notαrise for yourself and/or your child, only if you had previously tested positive for COVID-19 on a professionally administered or supervised test at a healthcare provider or test centre in Singapore.
If you have queries about Recovery HealthCerts, refer to this FAQ or write to support@notarise.gov.sg for assistance. If you have trouble obtaining a Recovery HealthCert, you may also wish to check with the authorities of your destination if other forms of proof of past infection are accepted (e.g. positive test result slip).
